NIGHT LIGHT ALBUM: Ideia

Over the span of about 4-5 months, I focused on developing the album's tracks. The initial groundwork for most songs was laid during this period, with the subsequent months primarily dedicated to post-production enhancements.

II find inspiration in bands like Pink Floyd, Red Vox, and in the renowned composers Yasunori Mitsuda and Hiroyuki Sawano, known for their soundtracks in games and series.

Their engaging melodies and complex arrangements awaken my curiosity to explore different musical styles and inspire me to create authentic narratives in my own compositions and also in the creation of versions of songs that I admire.

The songs talk about the pressures of life and the expectations we face, highlighting the importance of reflecting on being ourselves, even if that means being different from what is expected of us.

The Machine brings the story of a character who finds himself trapped in a world full of pressure and expectations; his cries for help are not heard.

The figurative sense of the machine with its gears and belts symbolizes the system we come from, where people fit into their roles following a predetermined pattern.

This track is a version of the song Beneath the Mask from Persona 5, composed by Shoji Meguro with lyrics by Rike Schmalz and vocals by Lyn Inaizumi.

The song reflects the desire to accept oneself and shows that taking off the mask is an act of courage and freedom.

Emptied by Time portrays the feeling of loneliness and emptiness that the character experiences when alone at night.

When he reveals his preference for the silence of empty streets over crowded places, he admits that he feels disconnected from others. This loneliness also scares him.

As he walks through the moonlit streets, the character seeks to find his place in the world.

In this quest, he realizes that light is much more intense than darkness, bringing hope to his journey.

End of the Tunnel is at first a mostly metaphorical piece, breaching topics of self-destructive behavior and less-than-ideal coping mechanisms, that eventually becomes a more hopeful look towards a future in which the character grows past those flaws and comes to appreciate life despite its hardships, because hardships are simply a prelude to future happiness.

The cogs keep on turning

And the belts keep on running

And I ask myself

What could this mean

(am I unique)

In the chains of every day

I work without a trace

The machine will never

The machine controls our lives and ourselves

The machine is inside us

All those words we’ve said

To all that we know and love

The wheels keep on turning

Towards a new, daily burning

And my cynical self

Just can’t help but scream

And those cries for help

Will just go unseen

And it’s a cry against the masses

A cry against the help

And I know I must be crazy

Cuz’ they know I’m very well

The machine controls our lives and ourselves

The machine is inside us

All those words we’ve said

To all that we know and love.

Verse 1

Where have you been?

Been searching all along

Came facing twilight on and on

Without a clue

Without a sign

Without grasping yet

The real question to be asked

Where have I been?

Chorus

I'm a shapeshifter

At Poe's masquerade

Hiding both face and mind

All free for you to draw

I'm a shapeshifter

What else should I be?

Please don't take off my mask

Revealing dark

Verse 2

Moments of calm

Nothing left to be found

A mirror right in front of me

That's where I find

An empty glass

Reflecting the sad truth

It's telling words not to be told

I need the mask

Bridge

I can't tell you

How to see me

Just a cage of bones

There's nothing inside

Will it unleash me?

Burning down the walls

Is there a way

For me to break?

Chorus

I'm a shapeshifter

At Poe's masquerade

Hiding both face and mind

All free for you to draw

I'm a shapeshifter

Chained down to my core

Please don't take off my mask

My place to hide

Chorus

I'm a shapeshifter

At Poe's masquerade

Hiding both face and mind

All free for you to draw

I'm a shapeshifter

Have no face to show

Please don't take off my mask

My disguise

Verse 1

Dark, all around me

Yet I feel right at home, right at home

Lit, by the moonlight

In the streets, emptied by the time

Yet, I'm not alone

On my own, by myself, in the dark

Because, I'd rather not

Stick around in a crowded place

Bridge 1

And, so, late at night I stand

Ho-ping this nightmare won't end

Chorus 1

And, emptied by time

I lay alone, on my own

Now, empty in space

I lay in here, waiting for time not to pass

So, emptied by time

Here on these streets, devoid of life

Then, empty in space, I

Look at the moon, seeing that time

moves so slow

Verse 2

Light, it shines too bright

That is why, I prefer, late at night

The world, open to me

Food for thought, looking at the past

Yet I'm here on my own

I can't feel, that I'm safe, anymore

These streets, empty in space

It's eerie, how they glow

Chorus 2

And, emptied by time

I lay alone, on these streets

Now, empty in space I

Look at myself and realize what I've become

So, emptied by time

I look at you, through the glass

Then, empty in space

I realize that all that could, has gone wrong

Music Notes

Bridge 2

And, so, late at night I stand

Ho-ping this nightmare will end

Linktree Logo
Black Gradient Background

Bridge 3

And so, late at night I fall

Ho-ping I can end it all

Chorus 3/another

So. emptied by time, I find myself

on my own

And now, empty in space I look around

To find there's no one to count on

Now, Emptied by time, I struggle on on for you

Yet, empty in space, I try to belong, I want to be with you too

Though, endless like this, under the moon, I must walk

Walk throughout the streets, lit by this light, light much too bright to my like

So, endless like this, under the light, I must walk

Walk, right through the light, much way too bright for me to live my life under this night.

Music Notes

Black Gradient Background

I want to be free from this blight

the wounds will close and sew together

the burns will fade away forever

the darkest night is yet to pass

but everything will be alright

The thoughts will stop with their endeavor

I'll grow beyond this self aggressor

the sun will dawn and bring the light

And I'll be alive, not survive, oh yeah

Feelings of a knife that's cutting underneath my skin,

feelings of the fire burning that cut from within

All those scars across my body leave a mark so deep

deep inside my psyche where they're never even seen

Cowardice and loneliness

they get me through the night

but to be comforted by such a thing,
